Description

C60PCBM ([6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester) is a fullerene derivative the most widely used electron transport layer (ETL) in inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells and perovskite-silcon tandem devices and widely used as an electron acceptor material in organic solar cells.

C60PCBM consists of a C60 fullerene (buckyball) functionalized with a phenyl-butyric acid methyl ester side chain, which improves its solubility in organic solvents and compatibility with polymer donors.

C60PCBM is the primary electron transport layer in inverted perovskite solar cells, achieving 20%+ efficiencies and enabling low-temperature solution processing for perovskite-silicon tandem devices.

C60PCBM is the benchmark acceptor for organic photovoltaics, enabling high-efficiency bulk heterojunction solar cells through optimal electron mobility and charge separation with donor polymers.
