COMMERCIAL GRADE FULLERENES
PRODUCTION QUANTITIES INTRODUCED
A new line of commercial grade, solvent-free fullerenes that are in stock for immediate delivery, and cost significantly less than other fullerenes, is being introduced by Nano-C, Inc., of Westwood, Massachusetts.
Nano-C fullerenes are exotic carbon molecules with distinct chemical, electrical, and optical properties that enhance the performance of a wide range of products used in many different industries. Manufactured in high-volume production quantities using a patented combustion synthesis process, these solvent free C60, C70, and C84 fullerenes feature >95% purity and are supplied as a soluble powder, making them a practical engineering material.
Applications for Nano-C fullerenes include polymer photoelectronics where they are used as electron acceptors in plastic solar cells and photodetectors; non linear optics; drugs and biomedical devices such as stents where their ability to scavenge free radicals and function as a drug delivery platform are useful; cosmetics where their anti oxidant properties contribute to anti aging creams; and various types of coatings and films.
Nano-C fullerenes are priced from $10,000.00 per kilogram (pure C60), which represents a 50% to 90% average cost reduction over previously available fullerenes. Literature is available upon request.
